Musicians of the Naples Philharmonic

Coleridge-Taylor — Five Fantasy Pieces for String Quartet
Walton — Façade

The musicians of the Naples Philharmonic perform two chamber works. The first is Five Fantasy Pieces for String Quartet by English composer Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, which was written in the style of Schumann and Dvoák. Each of the five pieces has its own unique sound. The second is Facade by William Walton. Walton wrote Facade with the English writer Edith Sitwell. It is a collection of short pieces of jazz, early 20th-century dance tunes, and music hall airs. The music was written to go with Sitwell’s series of poems. Facade: An Entertainment.

The Wang Chamber Music series is generously sponsored by David* and Cecile Wang.
