La Calavera Catrina has eight skeleton sculptures of La Catrina that are bigger than life. La Catrina is one of the most famous Day of the Dead figures (Day of the Dead). La Catrina is a beautiful skeleton of a woman and a symbol of Mexican culture. She looks at death not with sadness, but as a colorful celebration of life.

These sculptures were made by Ricardo Soltero, an artist from Los Angeles. They will surprise you as you walk through the Garden, and they will fit in with the landscape in unexpected ways. The Fogg Café and the Berger Shop in the Garden both have more works by Soltero.
