Weber — Overture to Oberon
Mozart — Concerto for Two Pianos in E-Flat Major
Mahler — Blumine
Strauss — Der Rosenkavalier Suite

Mozart’s lively Double Piano Concerto is part of a program that Austrian conductor Katharina Wincor leads for the first time with the Naples Philharmonic. Mozart’s two-piano masterpiece was played by Dutch pianists Arthur and Lucas Jussen, who were also making their Hayes Hall debut. It was a perfect way to get to know these brothers, who are rising piano stars. The concerto ends with a sparkling finale that is full of playful banter between the keyboard parts. The show ends with a piece from Richard Strauss’s comic opera, Der Rosenkavalier Suite. The suite is an emotional roller coaster full of waltzes that take you back to the glory days of Vienna.

Prelude at 7pm
Join the conductor 30 minutes before the show for a thought-provoking talk about the program.
