The Naples International Film Festival is now in its 14th year. It is a place for people who love movies to meet, share ideas, and celebrate the art of movies in a friendly, open atmosphere. The festival usually shows more than 60 films over four days. This gives our community a chance to see the best of independent film and meet dozens of talented filmmakers.
Naples is crazy about movies…
And Artis—Naples is, too.
The NIFF shows a carefully chosen program of fiction, nonfiction, and short films from both established and new filmmakers from around the world. The opening night always takes place on our Kimberly K. Querrey and Louis A. Simpson Cultural Campus. Competition films are shown all weekend at our cultural campus’s state-of-the-art Silverspot Cinema and under the stars in Norris Garden. Our community loves movies, and NIFF always tries to make an atmosphere where filmmakers and moviegoers can really connect.
A spot for moviemakers
We try to get as many filmmakers as possible to come to the festival, where they will be welcomed by our friendly staff, dedicated volunteers, and enthusiastic community. We keep our schedule small on purpose so that we can pay close attention to each film in the festival. Filmmakers are invited to take part in everything from our welcome dinner for filmmakers to the opening night events and more.
During their time in Naples, we hope that filmmakers will make friends that will last. Since the beginning of NIFF, we’ve tried to get visiting filmmakers to get along, whether it’s by letting them hang out in the filmmaker lounge, letting them watch each other’s movies, or putting them on the same panel. We try to keep in touch with NIFF alumni even after the festival weekend is over. It’s fun to see how careers and projects change over time, and we’re always happy to look at new work from our alumni.
