Naples Botanical Garden
Christy Noonan is fascinated by the collection of waterlilies in the Garden. She uses her canvas to show us parts of the world that we don’t normally see. She went to the Garden every week for more than a year to study these beautiful floating things and try to capture their delicate yet fierce nature.
Noonan mixes and moves paint across the canvas not just to make a painting, but also to make an experience. By experimenting with shape, color, light, and movement, she tries to capture the energy of her subject and show how much she loves the natural world.
